Hello dear community,
Post our huge snow event, I remain so frustrated at the basic skills I somehow never developed as a married person. And as necessity rises so do I—getting confident enough with a chainsaw that I need extra protective gear now, and up on roofs, and mighty with a snow shovel… becoming a more badass mountain woman. And also experiencing “extreme” support —to all of you who have shown up and served the land, or talked me through something I didn’t know how to do, or boosted me and the community up here, thanks a million thanks. It’s been an amazing winter.
In these wild and tender times, being able to show up and do what we can do seems more meaningful than ever. There seems to be so much we can’t fix or change… Maybe we are easing away from Hellinger’s brilliant quote, “When you don’t know what to do, do nothing” and towards the idea, “When you don’t know what to do, show up for someone else.”

PrayerFarm is a messy and wild place right now. The quickening is here—our 1st flowers are wildly abloom, the tiny purple slender toothwort, quite a few more bird songs, daffodil shoots that seem unperturbed by having been buried under 3 feet of snow, 19 mighty madrone crowns fallen to the ground, in many cases dragging other trees with them. The queen of our forest could not hold up under the weight of what she was carrying and snapped… can you relate?
